Terms of Use
1. About These Terms
Welcome to TheOnlineCity. These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the rules for using our website and services, so we can keep the site fair, safe, and useful for everyone.
By creating an account or using TheOnlineCity, you're agreeing to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, so it's worth reading those too.
In these Terms, "we", "us", and "TheOnlineCity" means the small team that operates the Platform; "the Platform" means our website at www.theonlinecity.co.uk and any related apps; and "you" means anyone who uses the site.
2. Who Can Use TheOnlineCity
You need to be at least 18 years old to create an account or use our services. By using the site, you confirm you meet this requirement. If we reasonably believe you don't, we may suspend or close your account.
3. Your Account
To get the most out of TheOnlineCity, you'll create an account. When you do:
- You're responsible for keeping your login details secure, and for everything that happens under your account.
- You agree to give us accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You should have one account per person — please don't create multiple accounts to get around restrictions or game any features.
If you break these Terms or our community rules, we may need to restrict, suspend, or close your account. Where we do, we'll act reasonably and, where appropriate, let you know why. (You can read about what happens to your data in that situation in our Privacy Policy.)
4. Community Rules
TheOnlineCity only works because the community keeps it friendly and trustworthy. When you post, comment, message, or otherwise contribute, you agree not to:
- Post anything illegal, fraudulent, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Share spam, scams, fake deals, or affiliate links of your own dressed up as genuine bargains.
- Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other members or our team.
- Post content that's hateful, obscene, or otherwise harmful.
- Try to break, overload, scrape, or interfere with the site or its security.
- Impersonate anyone else or misrepresent who you are.
We may remove any content that breaks these rules, and take action on the account behind it.
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you create — your posts, deals, comments, and messages. By sharing it on TheOnlineCity, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share that content as part of running the site.
You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to share it. If you delete your account, we may keep your public contributions so existing discussions still make sense, but in anonymised form, with your identifiable details removed — as explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Reporting Content and Moderation
If you see something that shouldn't be on the site — illegal content, a scam, abuse, or anything that breaks our community rules — please report it to us at [email protected] so we can review it.
We review reports and may remove content or take action on accounts where needed. We aim to deal with reports of illegal or harmful content promptly. We can't promise to monitor everything posted on the site in real time, but we take reports seriously and act on them.
7. Points and Badges
As you use the site, you may earn points and badges for taking part — things like posting, commenting, or voting.
Points and badges are purely cosmetic. They're a fun way to recognise members who get involved. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged, sold, transferred, or redeemed for anything, and don't give you any entitlement or rights. We may add, change, reset, or remove points, badges, and how they're earned at any time, and we may introduce new uses for them in the future under terms we'll set out at the time.
8. Deals, Vouchers, and Third-Party Retailers
TheOnlineCity is a place to find and share deals — but we don't sell any of the products or services ourselves, and we're not the retailer.
Deals, prices, voucher codes, and availability change constantly and are set by third parties, not by us. We do our best to surface good, genuine offers, but we can't guarantee that any deal, price, or code is accurate, current, available, or will work at checkout. Always check the details on the retailer's own site before you buy.
Any purchase you make is a contract between you and the retailer. We're not responsible for the products, services, delivery, returns, or conduct of any third-party retailer, and any issues with an order should be taken up with them directly.
9. Affiliate Links and Commission
To keep TheOnlineCity free to use, some of our links are affiliate links. If you click through to a retailer and go on to buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never changes the price you pay, and it doesn't influence whether a deal is genuinely good. The community's votes are what decide that.
10. Our Intellectual Property
The TheOnlineCity name, logo, design, and the content we create ourselves are owned by us (or licensed to us) and protected by intellectual property laws. You're welcome to use the site as intended, but please don't copy, reproduce, or reuse our branding or original content without our permission.
11. Availability of the Service
We work to keep the site running smoothly, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service from time to time.
12. Our Responsibility to You
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for things that can't be limited or excluded under the law — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, TheOnlineCity is a free service provided for general information and community use, and we're not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on deals, prices, codes, or other content found on the site, or from your dealings with any third-party retailer. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect new features or changes in the law. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know via the site or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use TheOnlineCity after that means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. This version is effective from 2026-05-01.
15. Contact
