Tax Codes - What they mean

L - This letter is reserved for persons on the emergency tax scheme as well as those born before 1945 and recieve the basic personal allowance.

NT- This indicates that you do not need to pay tax.

0% Tax

In the tax year 2015/2016 the tax free limit you can earn is £10,440. You usually will not be required to pay tax whilst under this amount, however any income over this amount is accountable to be taxed.
